volunteer platform of spain
When defining the volunteer framework, we cannot omit the Volunteer Platform of Spain (VPS). Created in 1986 as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in order to meet the need to coordinate the promotion and spread of volunteering and supportive efforts, the Federation of Progressive Women works as its equality committee.

In turn, all of the entities of the Platform bring together more than 800 associations and represents approximately 800,000 volunteers in all of Spain.
Relying on its 28 Territorial Platforms, it extends its work regarding the subject of Volunteering through a network. The VPS is the leader of the Volunteer Group of the State Counsel of NGOs (accessory organ to the government in social material and in the third sector), and at the same time is a participant in the creation of State pans and a member of Organizing committee of the different State congresses of volunteering.
In addition, this organization directs and manages the Observatory of Volunteering, which was created in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Matters.
